Pete is a composer, percussionist, producer and builder of really shoddy musical instruments. As a member of the eleven piece folk band Bellowhead he’s contributed arrangements to every one of their five albums, and has been responsible for two of their singles. Trained in composition at Goldsmith’s College, and in performance at Musician’s Institute, Los Angeles, Pete has was lucky enough to fall into the orbit of Battersea Arts Centre during Tom Morris’s stint as Artistic Director, a relationship that culminated in a production of Stravinsky’s Soldier’s Tale with live band and puppets. Other theatre has included Feast Your Eyes with Fevered Sleep (2004), Platform 4’s Memory Points (2012-14) and Little Angel’s Pinocchio (2012). As part of Bellowhead’s Southbank Centre Residency he has written for a number of their shows including Wondrous Machines (2014) and Rime of the Ancient Mariner (2009-11), as well as curating, music directing and performing in many others. He teaches percussion at Kingston University, lives in Hampshire and has a couple of solo albums available on bandcamp that you should definitely listen to.
